One of the highlights of Ian Fisher & The Present’s debut album was the 5 minute sex/love-melodrama Regret (stream here). Together with Phia, whom they know from touring together, Ian Fisher and Ryan Thomas Carpenter (The Present) have rerecorded and expanded the track into quite a different territory. Phia’s thumb piano play plus her voice give the song a warmer spin: despair in the original, hope in the new version.
