IRON RAT - Full Set Performance - Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival 2017.
Sophie Lancaster Stage - Friday 11th August 2017
Bradford’s Ironrat mix aggressive Doom/Stoner Rock tendencies, a blast of pure rock attitude with sweet 70s twin guitar harmonies, all topped off with the groove of southern rock.
Initially formed in 2008 after Metallica’s return to old-school album ‘Death Magnetic’ sparked a conversation between Wayne & Martin which led to a jam which lead to a band. A string of well received gigs followed with the likes of Charger, Conan and Alunah as well as playing the Yorkshire Pudding Biker festival.
2014 brought new material and line-up changes that saw Ironrat release their debut video single ‘Eye Lucifer’ and sealing a reputation for powerful performances. Their debut album ‘Monument’ was released worldwide shortly after.
Recently returned from taking their energetic live show to Norway and bringing South Wales’ Bulletfest 2017 to a riotous close they are ready to open Friday with a bang.
To be given the opportunity to play in front of such a large audience and to be part of such a stellar lineup is amazing. Not only do Bloodstock deliver the best bands extreme metal has to offer, their commitment to the underground scene, of unsigned and upcoming talent is truly admirable.
The invitation to open the Sophie Lancaster stage is both an honour and a privilege, and we couldn't be more stoked if we tried!
