"And although summer is over, the ukulele playing in this song will make you feel like you're on a tropical beach...The song (and video) deals with the concept of accepting love regardless of the consequences of outside perception. Who can't get behind that?" - SF Weekly, All Shook Down

The Bay Area four piece originally came together in 2011 with their debut release 1000 EP. Since then, A Yawn Worth Yelling has released three additional projects, shared the stage with acts like Saint Motel and Relient K, and generated local acclaim, with strong support from Live 105's Aaron Axelsen and as The Deli SF's August 2015 Artist of the month.

A Yawn Worth Yelling's fifth studio release, Play Pretend EP was recorded in Oakland, CA at Hellam Sound Studios with Aaron Hellam (Finnish Ticket, Picture Atlantic). The EP reflects on the moments when nothing feels right, but you're forced to play pretend in the face of adversity. Tackling themes of love, anxiety, and perseverance, Play Pretend's complex lyrical content is met with groovy bass lines and bouncy vocals that have drawn comparisons to hellogoodbye and Local Natives.
