Alex G’s DSU was one the year’s great pleasures, a charmingly shambolic and irrepressibly tuneful collection of lo-fi guitar-pop. “Harvey,” a concise gem built around insistent strumming, vocal harmonies, and wistful piano, was one of that album’s highlights. Now it has an appropriately low-budget video by director Colin Acchione, which shows a tiny model house burning down intercut with footage of the 21-year-old Alex Giannascoli strumming away nonchalantly and lip-synching at the camera.
