Arsoniste stopped by this rainy morning and shared Consolation, a beautiful song that showcases her ability as a pianist and her captivating vocals.

Halifax is so lucky to have such talent. Keep an eye out for her new EP, out sometime this summer.

Hopefully #HFXsongs will have her back this spring.

Halifax-based songsmith Arsoniste is readying a new EP for release later this year, but before it arrives, we're giving you an exclusive first look at a new video from the singer.

The musical moniker of Rachel Sunter (often backed by Patrick Murphy on drums), Arsoniste typically delivers sultry synth-pop jams. The latest offering, however, showcases a stripped-down side to the East Coast performer.

The new clip captures Sunter seated at her piano, filling the room at Deep North Studio with a haunting rendition "Consolation" conveyed using nothing but her keyboard and powerful voice.

The track is the latest to be included in a live music series going by the name #HFXsongs, which as you might deduce, aims to shine a spotlight on talent from Nova Scotia's capital. Watch the live video of Arsoniste doing "Consolation" in the player above.
