Bür Gür is the Los Angeles based tropical noise pop duo made up of Corbin Clarke and Makan Negahban. Childhood friends turned artistic collaborators, the duo began making music while living together in Santa Cruz, CA and have since written and recorded music in Los Angeles, Orange County, Panama, and Costa Rica.
After releasing their debut full length, Alligator Cheesecake, in 2014 with Los Angeles imprint How To Be A Microwave, Bür Gür quickly began working on the follow up album. Written, recorded, and mixed by Clarke and Negahban, Have You Lost Your Faith In God? delivers a fun, upbeat sound grounded on experimental rhythms, dreamy vocals, and intricate guitar lines. Rounding out the album, Bür Gür offers darker, contemplative lyrical content that serves as a stark contrast against their bright, tropical sound.
Directed by Dustin Krapes, the "If I Was A Child" music video sees a young boy's psychedelic visions of the afterlife after stumbling upon a dead body in the woods. Once again, dark mixes with light as the bright, pop laden track addresses the fears of growing up and getting in the way of your own success.
Have You Lost Your Faith In God? is available upon request for review and will be released April 1, 2016 via New Los Angeles.
