With big beats and playful narratives, San Francisco's Double Duchess transcends genres and genders through its live experience and highenergy delivery. Krylon Superstar’s mesmerizing voice and performance art genius, coupled with davO’s emceeing and production deftness, delivers a raw and campy electronic sound. Double Duchess' musical influences include Baltimore club, booty breaks, and ballroom house, all wrapped in a world of couture fashion.
After their second video for ‘Bucket Betch’ was released off their debut EP ‘Hey Girl!’ in March 2012, mountains of local buzz and some national recognition popped them onto the scene. Their follow up video ‘Deviant’ embodies a throwback to old house music, while displaying a darker side of the project. In 2014 they introduced a semidarker and heavily refined sound with their EP “Nocturnal.” Followed by more buzz around the title track and video, the duo teamed up with visual producer JB Ghuman to give yet another evolution of the duo’s new sound and image with the release of ‘Good girl freak out’. With their fulllength album scheduled in early 2015, the album features collaborations with artists Nicky da B and TT the Artist and displays a full range of the duo’s evolution of sounds and influences.
