Joe Walsh brother-in-law, ex-Beatles Ringo Starr speaks tribute to the Eagles and introduces Kings of Leon performing Eagles Take It Easy. Eagles first hit is followed by Juanes with guitarists Steve Vai and Steuart Smith on Hotel California (3:40), Vince Gill on Peaceful Easy Feeling (7:23) and co-songwriter Bob Seger (of the Silver Bullet Band) on Heartache Tonight (9:53).

Eagles Tribute Cast performs finale Life in the Fast Lane (12:50) at 39th Annual Kennedy Honors. Eagles are represented by Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmidt and the late Glenn Frey at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. December 2016 honorees are James Taylor, Al Pacino, Mavis Staples, Martha Argerich and The Eagles. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attend annual ceremony for the last time at the end of the second presidential term of office.
