Emanuel Ayvas penned the song "I Believe" at the piano with one hand (his non-dominant left) while the other was bound up in a sling following a major shoulder surgery. Confined to his tiny Brooklyn apartment and ordered not to move it for 6 weeks, he found himself pondering both his cranky perspective on life as all touring and guitar playing came to a complete halt, along with the current state of the world. What he came up with was a song of hope that was to become the thematic centerpiece of Emanuel and the Fear's new album "Primitive Smile".
It is a song about how no matter what position you may find yourself in, everything that happens will lead you to exactly who you are, the person you came into the world as, a wide eyed child innocently thrilled to live and see each new day.
