Minneapolis power pop punk trio Fury Things (the best rock band in the Twin Cities, according to The Current) are continuing to pound the pavement in celebration of the December release of their debut album VHS (Modern Radio Records) with a July run of North American tour dates. Fury Things are marking this tour with the release of a special tour-only cassette EP centered around a full band rendition of the song "Bahia," VHS' acoustic closing track. The Bahia EP includes remixes of songs from local Minneapolis artists as well as live tracks from Fury Things' shows supporting Bob Mould of Hüsker Dü at First Avenue's Mainroom in April. (The band will also be supporting Bob Mould on the road for a string of tour dates in September.) Fury Things are celebrating the Bahia EP release by revealing the music video for a reworked version of "Bahia," which premiered at The Current, and about which City Pages said, "With glitched out lake waves inverted and posterized by Chris Leblanc, the video provides an equally mesmerizing component to the fuzz- and feedback-soaked song...and serves as an announcement of the band's impending tour."
