Giraffage’s “Tell Me,” from the No Reason EP, is a genius bit of electronic pop that zigs toward quirky minimalism just when you expect it to zag into bombast. The song’s nimble melodies and suave, easygoing atmosphere already render it a standout in a crowded field, but director Adam Avilla’s Lisa Frank-inspired video may be even more memorable than the music itself. The clip seems to be about alien canines traveling to Earth and becoming dog-people who get along splendidly with humans by the power of some sort of magic crystals - at least I think that’s what it’s about? The whole thing is extremely endearing and more than a little surreal, so watch above.
