Eagles founding member, singer and guitarist Glenn Frey has died at the age of 67.
A statement posted on the band’s official website reveals the cause of Frey’s passing. “Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.”
Frey helped found the Eagles in 1971. He had a hand in the band’s most popular songs, including "Take It Easy,” "Peaceful Easy Feeling,” "Tequila Sunrise” and "Already Gone,” among others.
He embarked on a solo career in the ‘80s, and launched an acting endeavor later on. Frey won six Grammy Awards as a member of the Eagles, a band who have sold over 120 million albums worldwide.
