Nanaimo, BC-based indie rock four-piece Gold & Shadow are set to release their debut album Torch next month, and in anticipation of its release, we've got the video premiere for the band's latest single "Half Moon."

The forthcoming full-length touches on themes of "hope, loss, conviction, and ultimately redemption," delivered through a cinematic collision of drums, guitar, organs and vocal harmonies. Inspired by the gorgeous natural surroundings of their Vancouver Island origins, the songs serve as a reflection of and companion to the "wild, oceanic landscapes."

The song "Half Moon" exemplifies those themes and natural motifs, and runs the gamut from gentle folk-infused pop to more upbeat, skiffle-y funk. The accompanying visuals are dark and dramatic, featuring a young female protagonist wandering through a dingy, graffiti-covered underground space, with flashbacks to the real world spliced in. The band perform with masked faces and amidst an eerie fog, while black-clad dancers encircle the woman.

Torch is out on September 4, but you can watch the video for "Half Moon" in the player above.
