After wrapping a short tour in America, Melbourne's Indian Summer are now back with a new single. It's titled Loveweights and features vocals from Swedish vocalist Shaqdi.

Back track a little to May 2013 when they released an EP as Gabe and Chevy, aka Indian Summer. Little known as they were, they impressed with some remixes, some tidy mixtapes and an all round go-getter attitude making clear there was more to come.

Fast forward to today, they have now released 3 further EP's as well as remixing everyone from Sinden, Kissy Sell Out, Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP, to Jessie Andrews - not to mention 2 Hype Machine number 1's and Soundcloud and Youtube plays in the millions. They make ballads and bangers and have a uniqueness about their production, which is what sets them apart from the rest.

With this history in mind we present "Loveweights" - at this point saying it’s their finest work may be getting a bit repetitive, but with this EP the boys have proven yet again that they just get better and better.

"Loveweights" starts out minimal with a tingling piano and a rough filter before it gradually builds to add in the delicate voice of Shaqdi and a warbling percussion. Shaqdi's voice then cuts through the track for a solo highlight of her angelic tones that then meld smoothly with the dry percussion. And throughout all of it that rough filter remains giving the track this sense of imperfection that makes the track as a whole feel far more natural. You’d be forgiven for mistaking this as a new track from Grimes...
