It Prevails is a five piece Melodic Hardcore band from Portland, Oregon, formed in 2004. They are composed of vocalist Ian Fike, guitarists Alex Kutsche and Bobby Valeu, bassist Nate Dorval, and drummer Ian Clark. The band draws influence from 90s Melodic Metalcore and classic rock. Bands like Shai Hulud, Twelve Tribes, Strongarm, Lifetime and Hot Water Music were on constant rotation at hangouts during their inception. A premium was placed on lyrics related to struggles of the human condition and altruistic actions. It Prevails released a four song EP (Indelible) in 2005, their debut album (The Inspiration) on April 3, 2007, and their most recent effort(Capture & Embrace) on February 17, 2009. A new EP, Findings, was released on May 25 of 2010.
