The video features some nice stop motion work on the slender naked frame of a young lady. The images cast on her body vary and are mixed in with some other cool shots of the band performing and other unusual things. The stop motion comes courtesy of ShadowMachine Films, who also do the work on Adult Swim’s awesome Robot Chicken.
Jane's Addiction is an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. The band's original line-up featured Perry Farrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar), Eric Avery (bass) and Stephen Perkins (drums). After breaking up in 1991, Jane's Addiction briefly reunited in 1997 and again in 2001, both times with Avery declining to participate. In 2008, the band's "classic" line-up, featuring Avery, reunited and embarked on a world tour. Avery subsequently left the band in early 2010 as the group began work on new material. To date, they have released three studio albums (with a fourth due in August 2011).
Jane's Addiction was one of the first bands to emerge from the early 1990s alternative rock movement to gain mainstream media attention and commercial success in the United States. Their initial farewell tour launched the first Lollapalooza festival, an alternative rock showcase. As a result, Jane's Addiction became icons of what Farrell dubbed the "Alternative Nation". The band was ranked 35th on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" list.
On January 5, 2011, the band has announced that they have recruited TV on the Radio guitarist and producer Dave Sitek as a replacement to Duff McKagan who departed the band in September 2010. Sitek is set to record the bass for the band's upcoming fourth studio album, as well as co-produce it. The album, entitled The Great Escape Artist, is due for release in summer 2011. On January 14, 2011, while talking about the recording of the new album, drummer Stephen Perkins has mentioned that although Sitek is a "stabilizing force" for Jane's Addiction, he was not the band's full-time bassist as was previously reported, although he is still set to appear on the band's upcoming album. It was then confirmed that Sitek will not tour with the band, that is set to promote the album in a summer tour, that includes also a headlining slot at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. It was recently announced that Chris Chaney will be the band's live bassist for some shows in 2011. On March 30, 2011, a song from The Great Escape Artist, "End to the Lies" was premiered on the Chilean radio station Radio Futuro, and was also performed at Lollapalooza, Chile; on Sunday April the 3rd. A few days later on April 8 the band released the song "End to the Lies" on their website for free to download. Many sources are saying that "End to the Lies" will be the new album's first single. The band also confirmed August 2011 as the release date for the new album The Great Escape Artist.
