Video production and editing by Jessica Blaquiere at Odd-Balls Production

Music by Jerk In The Can Bath Salts mixed and recorded at Fortissimo Studio with Doug Fury. (video released on 2014-08-16)

Vancouver's Marc Blaquiere used to play in the bands Kill City Kids and Go Ghetto Tiger, but these days he's got a new project called Jerk in the Can. They will release a 7-inch on Fat Kids First Records on September 1, and a video for the single "Bath Salts" can be seen now.

The song is a dynamic electro freak-out with dramatic balladry and manically fast, noisy synth explosions. At first, it seems like "Bath Salts" might simply be about the water-soluble hygiene product, since the stop-motion video shows a naked male toy (who appears to be made of clay or plastic) relaxing in the tub. Ultimately, however, the figure eats some bath salts and enters a tripped-out candy land where he chows down on some bystanders' faces. The clip was made by Jessica Blaquiere.
