John Maus' homespun version of synthpop is a warped, queasy thing. His video for the new track "Head for the Country" is a similarly off-balance, low-budget take on sci-fi. In the clip, from director Jennifer Juniper Stratford, Maus watches Robocop at home and then sends mysterious light-beams throughout the universe. "Head for the Country" will appear on Maus' new album We Must Become Pitiless Censors of Ourselves, out June 28 in North America via Ribbon Music and a day earlier in the UK via Upset the Rhythm.
