Off of Joseph Arthur's forthcoming album "Lou" featuring the songs of the great Lou Reed out on Vanguard Records on May 13, 2014.

Video shot/edited/directed by: Ehud Lazin

The death of Lou Reed last fall hit many people hard, including the Velvet Underground leader's friend, singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur. Now, months after the tragic passing, Arthur is paying tribute to his fallen colleague with a full-length covers LP simply dubbed Lou and has served up a video for his take on the artist's signature cut, "Walk on the Wild Side."

Arthur takes a different approach than that of the original, subbing the iconic bass slide work of Herbie Flowers, sax solos and soulful back up "doo doos" to instead showcase gently tapped piano melodies and acoustic plucks. His own vocals run quite a bit softer than Reed's had, though the lyrics about New York's Factory scene still captivate.

Visually, the clip has Arthur making his way around the City that Never Sleeps, alluding to Reed's lines by actually going down to the Apollo. You can see him go, go, go via the player up above.

Lou drops May 13 through Vanguard Records.
