We'd not heard of Kitchen Party until a few months ago when they posted a mixtape called 11th Floor (http://tinyurl.com/mjo9wmo) which was, well, pretty damn great. So when they asked us to make a music video for their debut track "Lights" we happily obliged.
For the shoot, Noisey exposed the huge underground car cruising scene that exists underneath your noses right here in the UK, in industrial estates and abandoned car parks around the country.
We followed Hayley, a young girl racer from Essex, on a night out on the tarmac with her best mate, ending up at a 5,000 strong car cruising event at a secret location in East London.
Imagine if Fast and Furious was directed by Guy Ritchie and Vin Diesel was a lad from Essex and you'll have some idea of how ridiculous and great this scene is.
The track is taken from their EP (set for release on 8th September) which is a collection of original tracks and remixes, co-written with Cameron McVey (Neneh Cherry, All Saints, Massive Attack, Sugababes).
