"Born This Way" was a critical success, described as a "club-ready anthem"; but faced criticism due to its similarities to Madonna's hit "Express Yourself". Additionally, "Born This Way" is the 1000th number-one song on the Hot 100 and only the nineteenth to debut at number-one. It is the fastest-selling single in iTunes history, selling one million copies in five days. Gaga first performed the song live at the 53rd Grammy Awards, dressed in a translucent yellow bra and full-length skirt.
