Music video by Lisa Stansfield performing This Is The Right Time. (C) 1989 SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (UK) Limited
Affection is the first album by English pop and soul singer Lisa Stansfield, released in the UK, in November 1989, for BMG/Arista label. Written by her husband and musical collaborator Ian Devaney, former school mate Andy Morris (who left her band in 1993), and Lisa herself, the record was widely hailed as one of the finest debut albums ever by a British soul artist, going straight to number two in the UK Albums Chart.
The LP album, with its combination of pop, soul and dance music, went on to sell almost 5 million copies worldwide. It was released in multiple editions, in different countries and years, with alternative track listings, including six hit singles: "This Is the Right Time" (which does not feature on the original vinyl LP release).
