"Moai Y Yo" is taken from Amparo, the debut album by Maria Usbeck. Out via Cascine and Labrador.
Video shot and directed by Jer Robert Paulin.
Last week, former Selebrities frontwoman Maria Usbeck released Amparo, an album of lovely, shimmering mutant pop songs sung in Usbeck’s native Spanish. Today, she unveils the video for “Moai Y Yo,” an album highlight. It’s a strange but deeply likable piece of work, in which Usbeck and two white-painted dancers swan through a photo studio. It appears that one of those dancers is Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek, who co-produced Amparo. Jer Robert Paulin directed the video. -- Stereogum
