The talent-loaded lineup of artists involved with supergroup Metal Allegiance's upcoming debut effort is mighty impressive, but check out who they've tapped to participate in the video for the record's "Dying Song." Sure, it's the iconic Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Superjoint, Down) whom belts out the cut, but the band managed to rope in Death himself for a scythe-swingin' cameo.
As you'll see up above, the cloaked figure is ruthless with his powers, at one point cutting down a BMX-riding young one in an open field. Also victim to the force is a man relaxing at home with a book, his passing tastefully marked by Death via the ritualistic extinguishing of a candle.
Even more existences are snuffed out as the song jumps from a downtrodden metal ballad into its hard-boogieing back-section. The narrative involves a major twist, though.
As previously reported, the core musicians on Metal Allegiance include Mark Menghi, Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick, Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson and the Winery Dogs Mike Portnoy. The album, which lands September 18 through Nuclear Blast, also features appearances from Lamb of God's Randy Blythe, Mastodon's Troy Sanders and more.
