Music video for "The Getaway" by the band Moneta. Directed by Kevin Maistros.
It’s no secret that today’s music business is not what it used to be. In almost every way the musical landscape is a post-apocalyptic wasteland of auto-tuned teenie-boppers, neon-clad frat-core, and a million faceless fallout boy clones. It seems that quality has declined as fast as listeners attention spans and the future looks dark for real music. But everyone that has seen a Mad Max movie knows that the wasteland breeds a smarter, tougher brand of hero. And that hero knows how to kick ass.
Well, Moneta is tired of the wasteland and is here to kick ass and take names. The 5-piece from Seattle, WA formed in 2007 and wasted very little time recording their first album “The Hope EP” which was quickly picked up by local radio stations and led to shows with Paramore, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Classic Crime, and many more.
The band’s high-energy live show and honest music quickly won over fans in their hometown and the surrounding areas and Moneta was invited to play Warped Tour as well as The Taste of Chaos tour with Thursday and Four Year Strong. Moneta quickly returned to the studio to record their sophomore release “Heroes”; part one of a two-part series of EP’s that will conclude with the release of “Villains” in late 2009 and, since the release of “Heroes”, Moneta has spent the past year touring and expanding their fan base in the northwest and online.
Moneta has two records available now on iTunes, a music video with over eleven-thousand plays on Youtube, and an will be releasing a third record before the end of 2009 titled “Villains”.

Looks like myspace videos have stopped working again, even on their own site. I contacted their support and reported the problem. I'll wait until I hear back from them. I'd hate to delete all those good videos so I'd rather wait a while longer. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
