Nils Bech "Please Stay" (Official Video) - DFA RECORDS

"Please Stay" comes off of 'Echo', Nils Bech's first album with DFA Records out 14 October 2016.

Kåre Conradi
Emil Johnsen

Cinematography: Torgeir Gabrielsen
Editor: Morteza Vaseghi
Scenography: Sven Haraldsson

The scene between Conradi and Johnsen is taken from the play Richard III at the National Theatre of Norway.

Synth sculptor Nils Bech is set to drop the Echo LP at the end of the week. Bech makes electronic movements not unlike intense, symphonic 8-bit video game soundtracks. Today he shares the video for the longing, evocative “Please Stay.” The song has a dramatic, chamber feel with the intricate instrumentation crashing into electronic flourishes, ambient sweeps, warped synths, and booming drums. As for the Torgeir Gabrielsen-directed clip, it fittingly takes a scene from the Shakespearean play Richard III at the National Theatre of Norway. In the scene, Lady Anne (Emil Johnsen) and Richard III (Kåre Conradi) have a heated argument which is intensified a hundred fold set against Bech’s powerful arrangement.
