Could it be that 2013 was the year of the emoji? Following Chief Keef's perfect millennial cellphone anthem, high-art internet enthusiast Oneohtrix Point Never has utilized them for a new music video.

Rather than overwhelm, the clip (which was directed by John Michael Boling) interprets the heavenly synth composition with one small emoji at a time placed in the middle of the screen. As the song increases in intensity, so too does the speed in which the emojis change. Who would've thought that emojis could be so moving?

Watch the video for "Boring Angel" above and try not to get too emojional.
