(LM019) Parc En Ciel - Path Integral - Released April 29
Directed by Goroka. A LuckyMe Studio & Eldorado collaboration.
Earlier this month we shared “pH,” the opening track from Parc en Ciel’s Path Integral. Parc en Ciel, you may recall, is the ambient post-rock project of Mathieu Thomas, a French composer and producer now living in Glasgow and affiliated with Hudson Mohawke’s LuckyMe collective. As for the album title, which was inspired by the work of quantum physicist Dr. Richard Feynman, here’s a refresher:
Path Integral is the name of the graphical analysis applied by Feynman to quantum dynamics. It shows in a conceptual and linear fashion how an electron and a positron combine to “release” a fictional photon, much like a word leaves a mouth.
To mark the album’s release today, they’ve shared a video for another album track called “The Goods,” the first in a series of films in collaboration with Barcelona-based travel collective Eldorado. It’s a gorgeous polar travelogue spanning from a 200-person village in Greenland to the Soviet ghost town Pyramiden to the Norwegian town of Ny-Ålesund, billed as “the northernmost human settlement on the planet.” -- Stereogum
