'“Fly” depicts a dystopian listening party, interspersed with flashes of wistful memories of the past. The video fits very nicely with the militant beat structure and mournful pop deliveries of guest vocalist Sarah Melfy.'
PARENTZ lives in Berkeley, California, and plays and practices his knob twiddling and pop projection show in Oakland, in-between riots and muggings. But he's really asking for it. Hard to miss his neon shoes, loud hoodies, ridiculous blipster wannabe haircut, and huge-type-on-everything sense of style. When he's not cruising eBay and swapmeets for his next big music video prop/inspiration, or dropping names, he can be caught killing time with Shortcircles, James and Evander, Yalls, B. Hamilton, whatever else Oakland royalty will tolerate his obnoxious dress, vulnerable vocals, and sometimes anthemic, sometimes elegiac electro-pop arrangements. He's occasionally helped by all mentioned, in addition to Miss Kia of Ghost in the City, and vocalist Sarah Melfy.
PARENTZ is seeing what he can get away with if he could just get out of his own way in this 1st of a series of three free EPs entitled F-P&B<3Z, Part 1.
