Description

SEIZURE WARNING This video contains strobe effects and may not be suitable for those who are affected by them.

This song was inspired by Chief Spence of the Attawapiskat First Nation and her fight against the apathy of the Canadian government towards First Nations communities in Canada. We pride ourselves on being a progressive country, but the repeated marginalization of First Nations communities here is horrific. We acknowledge that this video was filmed on unceded Indigenous Land.

Phèdre will usher in the Golden Age with their sophomore album on October 1 via DAPS/Discos Tormento, and they've given us a taste of what's in store by sharing a video for the cut "Ancient Nouveau."

The song is a woozy yet urgent electronic pop cut, while the accompanying video shows spooky monsters and quickly flickering images, and comes with a seizure warning on YouTube.
