Hailing from Sydney, Mary and Chris are Polarheart. Having played alongside each other in previous projects, the duo began writing together in early 2013. They found a strong chemistry, and a year later Polarheart was born.
Their combination of dreamy vocals and abstract soundscapes, now combining elements of garage, trap and RnB, makes for a captivating listening experience. Drawing on a range of musical influences with classical training in common, and a love for pop and electronica, Polarheart continue to explore new sounds and unique ways to convey relatable messages through their music.
Their debut single, Paralyse, has received airplay in the UK and US, as well as across Australia. The track has had over 60,000 plays on SoundCloud, and was featured on MTV Iggy, Hillydilly and Nylon Magazine US. Their follow up single, Livealie, received positive online reviews from around the globe, along with play on Triple J radio.
The band has since been active in the live music scene, having played shows across Sydney, such as Oxford Art Factory and FBI Social. They are currently planning more for 2015, as well as spending time in the studio crafting their debut album.

"The layered vocals coupled with dreamy synths will have you floating with sweet sadness as you listen to this infectious tune." NYLON Magazine, USA
Hypnotise is about loving someone who is forever drifting away, and being at that point where you are desperate to find a way to make them stay and to make them love you back. It’s a situation we’re sure most people can relate to.
We wrote Hypnotise whilst we were away for a few days in the country. Getting out of the city and into the serenity of the country inspired us to try new sounds and ideas. – Mary Bokey and Chris Chidiac (Polarheart)
