Rogue Traders are a British-Australian electro pop rock band fronted by Melinda 'Mindi' Jackson with James Ash on keyboards, Tim Henwood on guitars and Peter Marin on drums. The group's original members (James Ash and Steve Davis) met in London in 1989. Before forming Rogue Traders, Ash and Davis worked together on many projects, most notably as dance act Union State. Davis still contributes to the band and is still an active part of the songwriting process. The band's name came from the movie Rogue Trader.

"Hearts Beat as One" is a pop rock song written by Jamie Appleby, Melinda Appleby, Melinda Jackson & Tim Henwood, and produced by Ash for the Rogue Traders' upcoming fourth studio album Night of the Living Drums. It was as released as the album's third single in Australia as a digital download on May 24, 2010 and as a CD single on June 11, 2010. The song contains heartbeats contributed by people from around Australia. This song was written for the Socceroos as the official National Anthem for this year 2010 FIFA World Cup. It has also been performed on Sunrise.
