"The Pass" is a song by the band Rush from their 1989 album Presto. The song addresses the issue of suicide among many teens. The lyrics, like the majority of Rush's songs, are written by drummer Neil Peart. The lyric "All of us get lost in the darkness/Dreamers learn to steer by the stars/All of us do time in the gutter/Dreamers turn to look at the cars" references a line from Oscar Wilde's play Lady Windermere's Fan. The single was a number five hit on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart.
