Official video for 'I Want To See The Light (lost from our eyes) by Sarah MacDougall.
Directed and produced by Christopher Mills and Gaelle Legrand, Number Four Films.
Swedish-born Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah MacDougall has unveiled some brand new visuals for her latest single "I Want to See the Light (Lost from Our Eyes).
The song comes from her forthcoming as-yet-undetailed record (due in 2015) and features fellow Swede Erika Angell from Thus Owls on vocal duties.
"It is a song about finding our spark again. Finding our passion and spirituality again in a world that is alienating and full of growing violence, " said MacDougall in a recent statement. "It is a song about my personal experience as a woman walking down a quiet street at night, 'flaneuring' like artists have done for centuries. It's a song about racism. It's a love song. Feel free to dance."
The video, meanwhile, was filmed in Toronto, with the crew biking, driving and boating to parks all over town, as well as the more relaxed setting of director Chris Mills' living room. It was shot over the course of three hot and stormy summer days, and as MacDougall puts it: "Wearing a hoodie and a leather jacket was sweaty and uncomfortable but necessary for the story."
The clip draws on a real-life story of a sniper in MacDougall's hometown and what it was like walking home knowing that he might be out there. -- Exclaim!
