Porcelain Princess is part of the Portals music project, an upcoming album by internationally touring musicians Sharon Knight and Winter, featuring several of their touring musician friends.
Porcelain Princess features Tricky Pixie: SJ Tucker (vocals), Alexander James Adams (violin), and Betsy Tinney, (cello), as well as Dan Cantrell (accordion), Caith Threefires (bass), and Mark Abbott (drums), and stars Bunny Holmes, Camille Grenier, and MIchael Navarra.
“Imagine if you will; an otherworldly carnival, traveling in and out of mystery, magic, the unexplained. You feel the hair raise on the back of your neck as a motley band of skillful and possibly dangerous musicians brandish their bows, their voices, their tambourines, and open portals to the realms of the fantastical! You thrill to the charms of seductive sirens, pixie pirates, steampunk sailors, metal warriors, witches and wanderlings, as a mighty cast of characters wield their mightiest mojo in a Theatre of Enchantment crafted to delight and awe!"
Directed by Paul Nordin, the Porcelain Princess cinematic story was made possible by our awesome Indiegogo supporters, as well as the following Portals business sponsors.
Sharon Knight’s website: http://www.sharonknight.net
Based in San Francisco but a vagabond traveling throughout the festival circuit, Sharon Knight is a raconteur of loves' great woes and triumphs. Her NeoFolk Romantique sound is prominent on her newly released full-length Portals, where Knight shrouds anecdotes of female love through familiar Myth-Punk and Pagan archetypes. Despite the rich borrowing from folklore Knight's celtic-infused folk is accessible to anyone that has experienced the joy and pain of romantic love.
As a songstress, Knight takes to her mandolin like an electric guitar. She has garnered a loyal following across the country with her bandmate and longtime collaborator Winter. Together Knight and Winter craft a sound this is both ethereal and fierce, combining gutsy bravado with delicate beauty. Knight and Winter have toured around the world, and will continue to do so in 2016. They have performed on main stages at Faerieworlds (OR), Sherwood Faire Celtic Music Festival (TX), New York Faerie Festival, as well as numerous smaller Celtic and mythic/fantasy festivals across North America.
