Skydiggers’ new album, Here Without You – The Songs of Gene Clark, one of Canada’s most treasured bands interprets the work of one of the world’s most treasured songwriters. The album, to be released May 13, 2016 on Latent Recordings, is an eight song collection which covers, and in some cases radically reinvents, such timeless Gene Clark compositions as The Byrds’ classics “Eight Miles High” and “Feel A Whole Lot Better” in the Juno Award winning Skydiggers’ equally timeless folk pop style. Delivered in a stark, haunting manner, the intimate album was recorded by Cowboy Junkies’ Michael Timmins, who serves as producer.

As previously reported, Skydiggers are just about to release their Gene Clark-tributing Here Without You. Before the record can send you, well, "Eight Miles High," the Toronto roots troupe are celebrating bipedal motion in a music video for their take on "Set You Free This Time."

Skydiggers' interpretation of the Byrds number is intimate and tender, with light strums supporting Andy Maize's half-hushed vocals. Visually, we're privy to some filter-distorted, birds-eye view shots of an in-motion bicycle before the camera angle observes various figures fleeing the scene.

Gentle and ruminative, the video can be found above.

While Here Without You goes on sale tomorrow (May 13) through Latent Records.
