In the video for 'Weekend' Smith Westerns are captured on camera not doing much of anything at all, and yet they manage to make mundane activities like eating nachos, wandering around a mall, and keying beers look like the coolest possible things a person could do with their time. A word of warning; tree-huggers may not enjoy this video.
Smith Westerns are an indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Their musical influences stem from the Beatles and compilation albums Nuggets and Back from the Grave, along with David Bowie, Marc Bolan, and T. Rex.
Their self-titled debut album was released on HoZac Records on June 5, 2009. Most of the album was recorded throughout the winter and early spring in Max Kakacek's basement.
They released a new single, "Weekend", on November 4, 2010, from their most recent album Dye It Blonde, which was released on January 18, 2011.
