From nztvx - "recorded in Studio 8 Avalon for Grunt Machine. Done in 1 rehearsal and then record with Phil walking the camera around the studio till the vocals kicked in.
Probably the only recording left of a band performance from 'Grunt Machine'. They recorded 3 other tracks that day off "Mental Notes"... all wiped
Mental Notes is the 1975 debut album by New Zealand art rock band Split Enz. The album cover was painted by band member Phil Judd. Original vinyl copies featured Phil saying "Make a mental note" in the runout groove of the record's second side, causing the phrase to be looped ad infinitum until the needle was removed from it.
