Today, Suit of Lights releases the music video for "Break Open the Head," from forthcoming album Break Open the Head, out June 6, 2016 via Visiting Hours.
The mysterious video follows a man caught in a whirlwind of chaos as a dubious mask clad gang chases after him - but what ensues when they finally capture him isn't the outcome you would ever expect. Representing psychic upheaval through art, "Break Open the Head" is consistent with the album's themes of open-mindedness and human solidarity.
Suit of Lights was founded in 2003 by Joe Darone, formerly of The Fiendz and The Rosenbergs. The band has been described as genre-defying, artfully blending elements of 60's pop, punk, progressive rock, metal, jazz, and baroque pop. Never content to stand still creatively, Joe Darone creates a new musical adventure with each new release, and so, fans have come to expect change from Suit of Lights.
Break Open the Head is the follow-up to the band's critically-acclaimed 2012 release Shine On Forever. Produced by Tim 'Rumblefish' Gilles, Break Open the Head is a bold, energetic leap forward, at once dense and challenging yet very accessible and insanely catchy. The lyric writing contains the most positive message to date: “honor your higher self.”
