As documented in the excellent book by Cliff McLenehan - A Chronology - which is a day by day account of Marc's life! This video seems to be the first one to made in the UK and was shot in the afternoon of 3rd May 1973.

The location is unknown but must have been London as Marc had only come home from L.A. the previous day.

'The Groover' charted at No.4 in the Uk in June '73. This was three months after the release of the single '20th Century Boy' and the album 'Tank'. Neither of these singles were on the album which at the time was the norm though that wouldn't happen these days! The studio shots do seem to be a bit over the top, but the live footage is ace!

"The Groover" is a 1973 single by the British glam rock band T. Rex. Neither the track nor its B-side are taken from an album, however they are often added as bonus material on re-releases of the 1974 album Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow.

The single was in the UK charts for a total of nine weeks, peaking at No. 4, making it the last T. Rex song to enter the top ten during Marc Bolan's lifetime.
