U2 Go Home: Live from Slane Castle is a video album released by Irish rock band U2 during the Elevation Tour European tour.
Recorded on September 1, 2001 at Slane Castle on parade with the band in County Meath, Ireland, was released on DVD on November 17, 2003. Although the concerts at Slane Castle are traditionally held once a year, U2 played two shows. This was the last show of the first stage of the Elevation Tour.
The film was the second of two releases of concert tour, preceded in 2001, the Elevation 2001: Live from Boston.
The show features the band performing in Slane with an audience of over 80,000 spectators, the second of two concerts played at Slane Castle on the Elevation Tour. The presentations were the first band in Slane since 1981 when they opened the show for the band Thin Lizzy.
Bono had lost his father to cancer a few days before the concert. His first night at Slane was one day after the burial of his father. Bono also dedicated the song "Kite" to his late father.
U2 Go Home was filmed on Saturday at 1 September 2001, the same day that the selection Irish secured a spot in the FIFA World Cup 2002. The football game shown to the crowd before the concert, adds to the festive air. During the completion of "Beautiful Day," Bono yells: "Beautiful goal."
