Vee Skeeno - Undeniably Good Freestyle (Produced by Logic Dojo)

Directed and Edited by Dave Phoenix

Connecticut doesn’t come up often in hip-hop discussions. The tri-state area is dominated by New York and New Jersey, but young Hartford rap group The Voyagers is looking to change that. The latest comes from crew member Vee Skeeno with “UGF (Undeniably Good Freestyle).”

“The scene in CT is pretty live right now. Everyone is just trying to put on,” says Skeeno. “The typical-sounding rapper coming out of Connecticut is making trap music or shit with no substance. This song is one of the first I recorded while being 21, and it’s like me being reborn. People underestimate us, but we made a path of our own just by staying true to ourselves.”

The group started making music together as high schoolers in a basement, and they avoid trends and opt for a more throwback sound. Skeeno unashamedly describes their sound as boom bap, and he says they get a lot of comparisons to Pro Era because of their message.

“Connecticut is so slept on when it comes to music, but we want to wake ’em up and show ’em we got flavor!”
