Velvet Flare is Paul English. He writes the music and lyrics, sings the vocals, plays the guitars, and most keyboards. Patrick Kennedy plays piano when required. Slade Gibson plays bass, occasional guitar solos and keyboards, programs drums, and has mixed and mastered the songs.

The first single is ‘6th Of June’... that’s 6th of June, 1944. Set in south-east England, the song’s subject is part of operaTon Overlord (D-Day) and is about to be sent to Normandy, France. His girlfriend/wife has no contact with him, and she can only wait for him to return.
