Boise, ID-based band Western Daughter released their debut EP As the Sun Went Down last month, and now we've got your first look at the video for "My Room Is a Mess" from that same record.

The five-piece toy with the boundaries between indie and post-rock, incorporating elements of everything from punk to emo to pop to carve out their own unique sound.

The clip for "My Room Is a Mess" sees the band wearing their influences on their sleeves, and on the walls - posters of bands like Thursday and Brand New hang behind them as they deliver the song's ringing guitars, emotive vocals and chugging rhythm. And while the footage sees the band getting engulfed in a smoky fog, the music cuts clean through it.

"As far as making the video went, it was a no-brainer," vocalist Taylor Robert Hawkins tells Exclaim! "The director [William Dallin Klingler] has been one of my best friends for my entire life. We grew up making short films in his parent's basement, so this is all second nature to us. He pitched the idea while Cameron, Taylor and I were drinking on the patio of a bar in downtown Boise after our show with the Good Life earlier that night. We filmed it the next weekend."?

As the Sun Went Down is available now through Camp Daze/Broken Bark. Watch the video premiere for "My Room Is a Mess" in the player above.
