White Like Fire premiered the video for "Crimson" via Pop Matters this past Monday, May 11th. Following the stunning "You Gave Up On Me" video, this is the Pittsburgh band's second visual offering from their recent Wait The Night Out EP - released independently April 21st, 2015.
"Crimson" is the sharp indie rock hit you've been waiting for this summer. The verses have a quick, pulsing drive in the guitar line that so easily transitions into a fluid, anthem-esque chorus, creating a standout push-pull effect. The video sees the band performing at a surreal masquerade party, where attendees are sporting a variety of animal and opera masks. As the camera floats around the party, shots of girls dancing through projections and couples glowing underneath the tree lights makes you wish you had been invited.
Forever aspiring to capture the emotion of an experience, White Like Fire creates a sound that stands out amongst today's typical indie rock. There are no laptops, synthesizers, or drum pads involved, only real instruments played by real musicians with real experiences. Recorded with Jason Shaffer and Kyle "Slick" Johnson, known for his work with Modest Mouse and the So So Glos, Wait The Night Out offers very little post production, giving listeners a raw, robust sound they can easily dive into.
