'Make Make' is the first single off WiL's latest studio album 'El Paseo'.
"Over the Christmas holidays my wife and I were hunkered down in our "box in the woods" as I like to call it. I was having a case of writer’s block and watching 'Elf' & 'Christmas Vacation' wasn't curing it. Anyway, Caroline came down with a horrible flu bug. I made her soup & toast for two weeks and while she was blowing her nose, shivering and watching Netflix, I was in the next room (our house is really small) writing 'Make Make'! Sometimes it's the strangest of occurrences that inspires us." - WiL
If you're going to make, make a music video, you may as well have a song called "Make Make" to use for the soundtrack. At least, that's what Canadian songwriter Wil has done to help promote his upcoming fifth album, El Paseo.
The animated lyric video first finds a silhouette of Wil "playing the gee-tar," and soon slinging an assortment of sentimental lines to his wife. As the visuals float from pleasant to tearful times, the rustled-up folk-pop tune explains that love will guide you through both the good days and bad.
Spoiler alert, as if you didn't pick up on this already: the video has a smoochy, smile-heavy ending. You can check it out for yourself above.
El Paseo hits stores September 30 through Cordova Bay Records. -- Exclaim!
