The Devil's Crayon sees Tom Fleming swap vocals duties with usual lead singer Hayden Thorpe. With its refrain of "We are so many tiny pieces" and Tom's yearning delivery, the song shimmers in widescreen around a sense of location, melody and wonder at the scale of things. The Devil's Crayon sounds like the theme song to a new kind of very English, (probably un-filmable) road movie.

Wild Beasts are an indie rock band from Kendal, in England's Lake District. They released their first single, "Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants", on Bad Sneakers Records in November 2006, and subsequently signed to Domino Records. They have released two acclaimed albums, Limbo, Panto in 2008, and Two Dancers in 2009. Lead singer Hayden Thorpe is also known for his operatic countertenor voice.

"The Devil's Crayon" is the first single from the album Limbo, Panto, released by Wild Beasts on June 30, 2008.
